A Taste of Architecture is an artistic architectural work on the theme of “Living in Existing Buildings”- The work strives to strengthen the connection between people and the home by consciously activating the human senses. The main focus is placed on the senses of smell and taste. The hypothesis is that a conscious examination of the built fabric strengthens the connection between the dwellers and the dwelling and, in the best of cases, increases the feeling of well-being in the home.
“Home” is ascribed an identity that ought to be respected. Projecting human senses onto the built environment brings about a change of thinking that allows the home to become a subject. The preparation and consumption of the home offers enjoyment, helps the dwellers to examine their built environment more closely, encourages the growth of knowledge about dealing with construction materials, and allows human and home to speak a common language.
A (conceptual) architecture recipe book completes this work. Experiments were documented in images and text.
